Fair Oaks Condominium Fire Damages $4.1 Million: Update

FAIRFAX, VA — A three-alarm fire at Cedar Lake condominiums in Fair Oaks on Monday displaced 48 people and caused damage estimated at $4,123,540, according to a post Tuesday morning on the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Twitter account.

Although a firefighter suffered minor injuries from the blaze, no civilians were injured, authorities said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Fairfax County firefighters were called to Cedar Lake condominiums Monday to a report of a fire at the Fair Oaks condominium complex.

A video posted on Twitter at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday showed crews using a ladder to put out a fire on the roof of a building in the 4200 block of Mozart Brigade Lane.

The department issued a third alarm, which brought about 100 firefighters to the scene to battle the blaze.
