Police ID victim in fatal shooting at Flint Township apartment complex


FLINT TWP., MI — Police have identified the 29-year-old man who was shot dead after an exchange of gunfire Saturday afternoon at an apartment complex in Flint Township.

Flint Township Police said they were dispatched around 1 p.m. Saturday, September 17 to Sunridge Apartments and Townhouses, 3348 Flushing Road, following reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Marquan Goodman, injured. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.

Flint Township police say there was an incident between two people that escalated into gunfire. A 32-year-old man from Flint Township was arrested and taken to the Genesee County Jail.

The Genesee County prosecutor’s office did not immediately return a message from MLive-The Flint Journal asking if it had cleared charges in the case.
