Townhouse near North End listed for $ 7.5 million

After real estate agent Ashley Copeland married Julian Stoopler five years ago, the newlyweds decided to buy a townhouse at Villa Plati on Bradley Place in North Palm Beach.

“Julian was a tenant in Breakers Row and I said to him, ‘You should buy an apartment. I am a real estate agent. It hurts me to see you paying all that money for rent. So I looked around and found this townhouse in Villa Plati. I thought the development was undervalued at the time for a waterfront property, ”says Copeland.

A gas fireplace is the focal point of one of the living room areas of a townhouse in Villa Plati, which is listed for $ 7.5 million.

Although Villa Plati was developed in 1992, the townhouses do not appear to be dated, she adds.

“They have high ceilings and spacious interiors,” she says, “and they’re on three levels with underground parking.”

The couple recently purchased a waterfront property with a dock in West Palm Beach, so they are selling their three-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home with 4,578 square feet of living space, in the inside and outside. Copeland, which is affiliated with Brown Harris Stevens, listed the townhouse – No.7 at 236 Bradley Place – for $ 7.5 million, with the furniture available in separate negotiations.

Villa Plati stands on a lakeside site at the corner of Atlantic Avenue. Its 20 units are configured in a U-shape around a common garden. The Copeland and Stoopler unit is located at the northeast corner of the development.

On the main level is the two-story foyer, which is crowned by a skylight and houses the staircase and elevator. The kitchen is to the south and the dining room and living room are to the west. The den and a powder room are to the north.

“The living room and dining room are an open space, which overlooks the patio,” says Copeland. “You can see the fountain in the community courtyard garden and glimpse the Intracoastal (waterway) from the dining room and patio. You can also see the water from the master bedroom, which has a large covered balcony, ”she says.

Steps lead up to the front door of Ashley Copeland and Julian Stoopler's Villa Plati townhouse.

The decorative elements include wrought iron banisters on the staircase as well as a chair rail and moldings on the walls of the main rooms and the foyer. In the living room is a gas fireplace with a stone mantle, a built-in lighted display case and a wet bar with onyx countertop and wine cooler.

The dining room features a hand-painted fresco on the main wall, with a mirrored flanking wall to reflect the view of the garden. The floors on the ground floor are covered in white marble, while those on the second floor are in hardwood.

The couple made the den paneling a rich gray to contrast with the predominantly white scheme elsewhere in the house.

The kitchen-diner features custom cabinetry, professional-grade appliances, marble counters and mirrored backsplashes. The space is anchored by a central work island.

“We loved living in the townhouse and had a lot of fun. Dinner for eight is easy, ”she said.

On the upper level, the master bedroom is to the west of the staircase hall with the two guest bedrooms to the north and south. One of the main bathrooms is done in onyx with a shower and a whirlpool tub. The other bathrooms have granite finishes.

On the lowest level is a three car garage, storage area and utility room.

During the years that Copeland and Stoopler lived in the townhouse, they installed a new air conditioning system.

“We also installed a shockproof window, because the windows were already protected by electric shutters,” says Copeland.

Villa Plati has a swimming pool overlooking the waterway, a tennis court, a full time manager and maintenance staff.

The location of the townhouse is one of the unit’s main selling points, Copeland says.

“I will miss the convenience of being less than five minutes from everything. The townhouse is beautiful. I will miss that too, she said.

But at the same time, she looks forward to life in their residence across the bridge: “A new home becomes your home once you fill it with friends, laughter, and good energy. ”
