Two-bedroom Fairmount townhouse for $565,000
For many couples, deciding where to settle is a difficult choice.
But for Krissy and Danny Stafford, that was never a problem.
Both grew up in Fairmount and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Their families still live there.
The couple met at a Super Bowl party in 2005 and they were renting in Fairmount when Danny’s dad gave them a two-bedroom, 1½-bathroom home in 2009 in the same block where Krissy’s mom grew up.
And Krissy, a cardiac stenographer who transcribes ultrasound recordings, and Danny, a Marine Corps veteran who works for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, set out to remodel the 1,400 square foot home.
They added new flooring, new electrics, even a stained glass door by a local Ukrainian craftsman.
“We loved the house and did a lot of the work ourselves,” says Krissy. But now they are moving to a bigger house – still in Fairmount.
The first floor features a living room with lots of natural light, a stone fireplace wall, a large front window and a large sitting area, as well as a kitchen with black granite countertops and a bar counter.
The outdoor entertainment area is a standout feature of the home, with fireplace seating, a full-size hot tub, and a large flat-screen TV.
The finished basement includes a family room or den and a separate rear space for storage, laundry and mechanics. It currently includes a home gym.
On the second floor, the rear bedroom has a bay window, a fireplace mantel and a walk-in closet that could easily be converted into a bedroom.
The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet and a very large bathroom with a glass shower and separate whirlpool tub.
The House is listed by Melanie McConnell of Keller Williams Philly for $565,000.
